Make Sure to Pack
We suggest that your girls wear their basic running gear to school for a smooth transition to practice. Restrooms are available for changing if needed. It's a good idea to help your child lay out their gear and pack a bag the evening before a Go Run practice day.

Extra snack – we’ll have bananas available as a pre-practice snack, but pack extra if your athlete needs something more substantial after the school-day

Water bottle - drink and refill water all day
We don't allow anyone to run in jeans or non-running shoes, but are happy to loan items for a day or the whole season. Wear layers that can be taken off as they warm up and put back on after practice as they cool down. Keep a towel and extra sweatshirt in your car for the ride home. If you are missing any of these items, your child may borrow from Go Run's gear bin.
Practice Overview
Arrival

Practice starts in the Sakai gym at 3:45pm.

Each participant will be checked-in on our team roster by a coach as they arrive.

We’ll have bananas available for anyone who needs a light snack immediately after arriving. If your athlete needs something more substantial, it's not a problem to send an after school snack with them to eat before practice.

Restrooms are available and can be used for changing if necessary.
Let's Go Run!​

Practice typically starts with a warm-up game and then a team huddle for introductions, activities, or discussion of the day's plan.

We run, hike, and play outside for approximately 1 hour each practice regardless of the weather. We’ll be moving and able to stay warm if each person has the required gear.

The team will return to the Sakai gym at the end of practice for cool-down activity and wrap-up huddle.

A healthy snack will be provided by Go Run at the end of practice.
Pick-Up

Pick up is at 5:15pm and athletes must check out with a coach before leaving the gym.

We will not release athletes to find their parents/guardians in the parking lot. You need to come to the gym (sport-court north entrance to the Sakai gym) directly to pick up your athlete.

Housekeeping

We expect everyone to be respectful to coaches, mentors, and teammates; quietly listen when someone is speaking, use kind words, encourage, and keep a positive attitude. It goes a long way to making our day amazing.

Athletes are NOT allowed to have their phones and electronic devices during practice. These cause distractions and take away from our team experience. Coaches have phones if you need to reach us for any reason.

To keep everyone safe, athletes need to follow directions from the coaches and mentors at all times.

In case of lightning or other dangerous weather, we will continue our workout inside.
